Lotus Elise Championship - Top Ten Finish!

47 Competitors turned up for the first round of the 2010 Elise Trophy Championship, all running in identical production cars.

The field was split into two separate groups, each having to qualify for the main final.

Qualifying took place on a dry track with a full grid and Rob was left rather disappointed to quality in 9th place for the qualification race.

The qualification race however saw a change in fortune as Rob was able to finish fifth on a wet track, which had also been adversely affected by Martin Donelly (ex Lotus Formula One driver) dumping a large quantity of oil on the wet surface. Donelly eventually went onto win the qualification race.

In the main final Rob lined up ninth on the grid alongside his arch rival Eric Bailey.

A poor start lead to Rob dropping to 16th place. However, he was able to finish in 10th place despite a sticking throttle. A top ten finish was considered acceptable out of 47 runners.
