Race Report - Nurburgring

Lotus Cup Europe - First Round

Having enjoyed a number of outings at the Nurburgring in recent years, Rob returned with his Team RSA run Elise to take part in the first round of the Lotus Cup Europe. Two races were planned on the famous Grand Prix circuit with some circuit knowledge Chris and Jason were able to set up the car to Rob's liking and he qualified in 3rd place in both races.

In race one inpatience got the better of him and he span whilst trying to take second place. However, he enjoyed a fantastic run eventually finishing in 4th place behind Paul Quinn and on the way elected fastest lap by over a second.

In race two Rob was fired up having been promised free dinner from the team if he was to win the race. He immdiately went into the lead on the first corner and thereafter built up a three second gap before retiring on the lap two with an overheating engine. Bitter disappointment for all concerned!
